Join EAO into the depths with UMSL's own Derik Holtmann on a guided tour of the Illinois Caverns. Limited gear is available, so we're capping tickets at 12 people. (If you have your own gear let us know!!!)
-An email with all the info will be sent to participants. This is a beginner-level trip and a great introduction to caving for those who have not tried it before! Please be aware that this event will be cancelled if there is rain in the forecast for the safety of our participants!
-This event is BYOL: bring your own lunch! We recommend packing light and bringing food in waterproof packaging, as there will be some water in the caves.
-We will begin meeting up at 9:30 am on site for a quick meeting before going in.
-Please wear appropriate clothing; the caves will be slightly colder than above-ground temperatures. This cave is **Beginner Level**. Waterproof shoes/boots with good grip are recommended since we will be moving through ankle to knee-high water at times. We recommend wearing non-valuable clothing that you won't mind getting dirty or snagged.
