Dr. Tara Smith is currently a Division Chief for the Production Division in the Office of Geography at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. She is leading the Agency in the transition of manual cartographic production methodologies to fully-automated cartographic outputs. She served in many capacities at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, focus in discovering new technologies and implementing them into workflows.

Dr Tara Smith will talk about my career, spanning nearly twenty years, at NGA and the various positions she has held. She will also speak about NGA’s current efforts to move from manual to automated cartographic production and some of the challenges the agency is facing moving towards a fully-automated mapping environment.

This will be a more informal discussion with a lot of time allocated to asking questions.
