Library Research 101

Join us for a virtual introduction to research at UMSL Libraries! This workshop is free and welcome to any student, regardless of major. We especially welcome students who are new to UMSL (freshmen, transfers, and new graduate students).  Returning students who would like a refresher, or who have never had library instruction, would also find this workshop helpful.

We'll cover the following topics:

• Scholarly & popular sources
• Creating an effective search strategy (using keywords, Boolean operators, etc.)
• Using Discover@UMSL, the library's main search tool
• Locating and navigating library databases
• Getting research assistance & the personal librarian program
