Retired LAPD Homicide Detective Robert J. Bub is a Criminal Investigation Subject Matter Expert who will be sharing his experiences with us from his 33 years in the LAPD. He had numerous roles in his 33 years including working high-profile and complex murder investigations. He was also the officer in charge of the Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD) cold case unit.

Rob Bub served 33 years with the Los Angeles Police Department and retired in March of 2015.  In 1993 Rob was selected to work the Rampart Homicide Unit investigating murders and attempted murders.  In 1998, Rob was promoted to the Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD), Officer Involved Shooting Team, which was tasked with investigating fatal and non-fatal uses of force with the City of Los Angeles.  Rob moved to the Homicide Special Section within RHD, where he handled high-profile and complex murder investigations.  He was later selected as the Officer in Charge of RHD’s Cold Case Homicide Unit. Rob completed his career as the Homicide and Sexual Assault Coordinator for the Van Nuys Division.  In his 22-year homicide investigation career, he was the lead detective on over 150 cases and directly supervised hundreds of other fresh homicides, cold/unsolved homicides, death investigation cases, as well as supervised the handling of hundreds of sexual assault investigations
