Presenter: Remy Xa

Remy Xa (they/them, any pronouns) is a Queer agender first-generation graduate student at UMSL. He is a recent alumni, with a B.A. in Communication from UMSL (Fall 2025) and are currently earning their M.A. in Communication.

As a student leader for organizations at UMSL including Triton Radio, UTV, and Pride Alliance, Remy has organized programs which center on education, collaboration, and accessibility. A few of the favorite events they've organized have included the Mocktail Karaoke Lounge with UMSL Counseling Services, the Elements of Sustainability Pride Silent Disco with Environmental Adventure Organization, and Anime UMSL.

Remy has served as UMSL’s Student Programming Manager of Community and Belonging since March 2025, organizing events like Quest St. Louis and Taste of the Lou.

Topic: Breaking Barriers in Leadership
Presenter: Kathy Casso

Upon graduating from UMSL, Kathy began her career as an intern with Anheuser Busch in their Sports Marketing Department. Over the next 26 years, she rose through the ranks in a male-dominated industry, ultimately leading the company's Sports Marketing Division as a Senior Director of Sports Marketing and Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility. Her story is a powerful one that resonates well with 'Breaking Barriers in Leadership'. She retired from Anhueser Busch, and now works with BJC Healthcare as their Sponsorship and Events Manager. A 1988 UMSL graduate, Kathy Casso earned All-American honors as a member of the women's soccer team and was inducted into the UMSL Sports Hall of Fame.
