Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Our degree programs cover the academic spectrum from fine arts, humanities, and the social sciences, to the natural and applied sciences. An undergraduate degree from our programs provides the intellectual base for a host of career paths and advanced study and research in many academic disciplines. Our graduates are known for their professionalism on the job and their strong sense of civic responsibility

The Department of Language and Cultural Studies offers a major in Modern Languages with a concentration in French, Japanese, or Spanish as well as a Dual Language Professional Track.

Our program provides you with strong language, cultural, and professional skills and gives you an edge in today’s competitive job market. Through classes, workshops, experiential learning, and a close-knit learning community, you will learn to interpret information derived from a variety of authentic sources, think critically and creatively, and communicate effectively and connect with people from cultures around the world.
