In conjunction with Career Services and co-hosting student organization, Beta Alpha Psi will host professionals from The Improv Shop who specialize in teaching and utilizing Improv skills to enhance interpersonal skills, enhance collaboration, increase confidence, and allow professionals to bring their most potent and authentic self to center stage in their careers.

The Improv Shop, will facilitate a 90-minute interactive session that will serve to set the foundation of how improv skills can aid participants professionally, equip members with a primary understanding of improv and its techniques, and serve to garner interest and generate a cohort for potential future meetings and sessions that will center around student's interests and dive deeper into practical skills and practicing techniques.

This meeting's communication topics will include interpersonal communication skills, central nervous system control for comfortability, and confidence building techniques, among others. Students who participate will gain a better understanding of how improv can be a valuable professional skill and further opportunities currently in planning will allow them to continue practicing and learning about improv and its use in a professional setting with The Improv Shop, including another presentation-style event being planned for the spring and future planned cohort sessions.
