The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year at UMSL, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their unique roles in society.

Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society offers its members a range of exclusive benefits designed to foster both personal and professional growth. These include access to scholarships specifically tailored for ALD members at both the local and national level. The ALD Perks Program is another significant benefit, providing members with exclusive access to a wide array of perks and discounts across the country. The ALD Leads initiative, a complimentary online program, is available to help students enhance their leadership and professional skills. Additionally, ALD hosts weekly Career Conversations, providing a platform for discussions about the transition from the first academic year to a professional career, featuring successful ALD alumni in relevant fields of study. ALD also collaborates with several educational partners to assist members in broadening their knowledge base and supporting their professional development. Being a member of ALD’s college chapter provides the privilege of being part of a prestigious academic society, where students can attend meetings throughout the academic year, socialize, and establish connections with other high-achieving first-year students. Furthermore, ALD provides numerous leadership opportunities, including the option for members to participate in community service projects with fellow chapter members, run for local chapter officer positions, and develop leadership skills.
